“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” Psalm 31:24
Contrary to popular belief, following Christ is not about taking the easy way out. I have heard people explain that Christians look to cast off all responsibility for their lives, and just drift through life waiting for the sweet by and by. How far from the truth this is!
You’re not fully alive, until you’re living in Christ.
By accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour you do two things:
1. You take responsibility for your life. The blaming game ends and the hostility towards your past stops. In effect, you stand up and say: “Yes, I messed up. Yes, I don’t have the answers. But, I take my life, whatever it may be, and place it in the hands of the One who created it”.
2. You make a choice . In acknowledging Jesus Christ you choose what type of life you want to live, what type of person you want to become. And that, I believe, is one of the most powerful things you will ever do!
Today, remember the choice you have made to hope in Christ and what that means for you. God’s word to you is to be courageous. Don’t give up; no matter how it looks around you. Stand for truth! God will fulfill His promise to you and strengthen you whenever you feel weak. You were born for life in Christ!
What will you declare over your life today?
