“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14: 27
“Hmmm, this scripture looks familiar…” You are quite right! One day wasn’t enough to uncover the treasures of this statement made by Jesus. Hidden within these words is an answer to a question that you have asked in the past, and today is the day that you receive your answer and walk in the freedom that the Word of God brings to all who believe in it. Here goes!
Question: What do I have to do to have more peace in my life?
Answer: You don’t have to do anything, just receive it.
True, long-lasting, and transformational peace is a gift from God in the person of His Son Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. When you say ‘yes’ to Jesus, you say ‘yes’ to peace. Living a life in Christ, with inner turmoil just doesn’t make sense. That is going against the very nature of the One you are committed to. Would you receive an inheritance from a wealthy relative, put all the money in the bank and never spend it, choosing instead to live as a beggar on the streets?
In Christ, you have a great inheritance and He wants you to enjoy all of it! Peace is your inheritance; you are an heir of the Prince of Peace! With thanksgiving, embrace all that Christ has given you! Refuse to live as a beggar, when you are the child of the King!
What will you declare over your life today?
