“…He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.”
In most countries, the average sixteen year old teen has one thing on his or her mind: driving! Thoughts of cruising down the highway, on a summer’s afternoon, friends in tow, music blaring, to a destination of fun and excitement, abound. Obtaining a driving license is seen as a passport to freedom.
If you have a license, you would know that there is a process to driving a car legally. There is an instructor to guide you, a manual to read and tests to pass. Without the learning process, you will not know what the rules of the road are. From years of being a passenger, you may have an idea of the rules, but it may not be what the government states. When you drive by the government’s rules, you stay out of trouble and enjoy your freedom.
Based on what we have seen, heard and experienced, we may have an idea of how to live, but we must depend on what God says to live a life that pleases Him. That is why we must be taught of the Lord and walk in His paths. By the blood of Jesus Christ we have been given a license to live the abundant life in Him, but the learning and testing does not stop. We must live by the principles and guidelines that are in our manual, the Bible. We must listen to and follow the wisdom of our instructor, the Holy Spirit. As we keep the destination, heaven, in sight, we will enjoy the ride.
This journey is a great one! So, gear up today, and let God take control!
