“So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God…” (Isaiah 30: 18)
The ways of the Lord are very interesting…My grandmother used to say “The Lord works in mysterious ways”. In the Scripture, the Lord proclaims, “I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.”* But, sometimes we just don’t get it! We still expect God to think like we think (with insecurities, doubt, fear and double-mindedness) and to act the way we act (with inconsistency and procrastination). Hear this today: God is greater, higher, more excellent and more wonderful that we can think or imagine. He is perfection.
The Great God— He who commands the wind and the seas, who keeps everything in the universe, has the power to make you fall on your knees before Him in surrender, yet He waits for you to come to Him. He waits for you to cry out “Not my will”. He waits for you to say “Lord, I surrender.” Why? Because God will not violate your ability to choose. He wants a freewill offering of our lives. He presents Himself and all that He is, but He waits for your heart to say “Here I am.” What love!
Today, this Great God wants to show you love and compassion because He is a faithful. He wants to walk and talk with you and fulfill His word in your life. Will you take the time out and come to God? Will you reach out and say, “I need thee every hour?” Don’t let this day end without taking one step closer to Jesus. He awaits your presence in His presence.
