Your Word for This Day: Excellent Waiting!

Thursday, May 9, 2013

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

Had your cup of coffee for the day? Have you taken your vitamins? Although caffeine and supplements help to keep us active and alert, there is no energy drink, no supplement, no vitamin shot that can take the place of the energy that the Lord gives to those who wait on Him. He is the true life source that revitalizes all who connect to Him through His Holy Spirit. And, boy do we need energy!

As you wait on the Lord, you will receive the strength to soar to higher heights, to run after your destiny and to walk in the abundant love of God. You are empowered! When I think of waiting on the Lord I envision a waiter, dressed in black and white, towel on arm, pen in hand, waiting to take the order of the patron sitting at the table. The waiter is there to serve. He or she has a large part to play in the patron’s dining experience. The waiter’s attitude, accuracy in the order, speech, timeliness, and willingness to serve means a lot to the patron. No one likes to be served by a grumpy waiter who hates their job.

God has everything you need to overcome every challenge and walk triumphantly today. But, are you waiting on God? How’s your service to Him? Are you joyfully and willingly obeying Him?

Those who wait on God are refreshed, rejuvenated, and revitalized to run this great race of life.   Let’s give the best to the King! With God, you will make it!
