Your Word for This Day: Have you said “yes”?

Monday, June 3, 2013

“…Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”                                                                                                                                                                            Luke 22:42b

There is a great plan in store for you! God has handcrafted a great destiny for you to accomplish. He designed you with the right genes, placed you in the right family, at the right time, and invested the right talents in you so that you can do what you were born to do. You are a volcano of potential, just waiting to erupt!

So then, what hinders you from becoming who God created you to be? What obstructs your path? What sidelines you in this great journey of life? Well, have you said “yes”?

Oh, you may have said “yes” to surrender your life to Jesus. You walked down to the altar or slipped you hand up and said the Sinner’s Prayer and now you belong to Jesus. But, have you said “yes” to fulfill your destiny? Have you said “yes” to do what God has asked you to do?

Perhaps God has asked you to write a book, to evangelize at a specific place, take a class, or to bless someone financially. In God’s plan, everything that He asks us to do is connected to our destiny.

Our destiny is accomplished with a series of yeses. You can have the best that God has for you, but it is unlocked through your “yes” to God. “Yes” surrenders your will to God and causes you to obey His instruction. Today, let us imitate Jesus. Where you are now in your journey requires a “Yes”. Will you trust your Saviour and say, “Not my will, but yours be done?”
