“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
By: Apostle Diann J. Wilson
“What kind of friend am I?” That is a question that very few people ask themselves. The more common question is always directed towards someone else: “What kind of friend are you?”
It is so easy for us to criticize others by pointing out all the things they do wrong, especially in relationships. We are quick to say, “How could you have done that to me? I thought you were my friend.” Do we stop to think that in criticizing them, we are actually showing ourselves up? Food for thought, isn’t it?
You see, if we were really as good a friend as we are supposed to be, we would be loving even when the other person in the relationship may have messed up. A friend loves at all times—not sometimes’ not only when things are to our liking. A friend loves at all times!!
The next time your friend does something that upsets or frustrates you, ask yourself these important questions, “What kind of friend am I?” “Can I be counted on to be there in adversity or conflict?” “Do I really love at all times?” Remember to answer yourself truthfully, so that change can take place in your life and those around you.
