“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 18: 21
By: Apostle Diann J. Wilson
It is amazing the power that lies within words and yet, we go around speaking them as if they are nothing. Words are the result of the creative thought process that every human being engages in every day they live. As we think, we speak.
Today’s scripture verse reminds us that death and life are in our words. What do we associate with death? Negatives, defeats, failures, disappointment, illnesses. What do we associate with life? Victories, positive thinking, success, good health, prosperity, wholeness, blessings.
Can you imagine that your tongue, or the words that are in your mouth contain one or the other—life or death? Scary isn’t it? Knowing this, however, enables us to choose what we say, what we use our tongues for.
Who wants death? No one. Who wants life? Everyone.
Let us choose to use our tongues to speak life so that we could eat the fruit of life. Speak life to yourself, to others, to your friends, even to your enemies. Choose to use words of life everyday and create the life that you wish to have.
Your words have power. Use them wisely.
