“A fool always loses his temper, But a wise man holds it back.”
Proverbs 29:11 NASB
By: Apostle Diann J. Wilson
Temper, temper. Some of us have lots of it, and display it all the time, while others have learnt how to control it. In which category are you?
Temper is not a bad thing if brought under subjection to the will and authority of God. Today’s teaching is very blunt in its wisdom. A person who loses his temper continuously is termed a fool. He has no self- control. What he should be controlling, is now controlling him/her.
We do not want to be fools. We have the wisdom of God living inside of us through the power of the Holy Spirit. We have the ability to control our emotions. It is a choice that we must make daily. Losing your temper all the time is not beneficial to your health or relationships. No one wants to be around someone who is always losing his temper. It is like living on the edge of a precipice, you never know when you will fall off.
Decide to be wise. Learn to control your temper. Ask God to give you strategies to help you to overcome this weakness. You do not have to be controlled by your anger or temper. You were created to have dominion over these. Use your dominion power and walk in the wisdom of God today.
