Your Word For This Day: The Power of the Secret Place

Thursday, October 17, 2013

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Psalm 91: 1 NKJV

By Guest Author: Peter Felix

Years ago, I read a story of an ancient city called Troy. It was impenetrable. The Greek soldiers tried for 10 years to get in, with no success. So, they built a wooden horse and hid some of their soldiers in it and then pretended to sail away. The Trojans brought the horse into their city. At night, the men came out of the horse and opened the gates to allow their fellowmen in, and they conquered Troy.

There is nothing that we cannot conquer when we stay in the Secret Place with God. There is a Secret Place that we can hide in God – that is the Secret Place of Prayer. It is a safe place where you can tell Him the things you may not be able to tell anyone else, it’s a place where you can off-load, cast all your cares upon Him, it is a place for you and Him alone – no one else, no distractions. How He longs for us to be with Him in the Secret Place!

A life of prayer is a life of victory. Psalm 91 gives a list of benefits for those who stay in the Secret Place with God. I encourage you today – let us not be too busy with the affairs of this life that we neglect the Secret Place. As we seek Him in secret, His glory will be revealed for all the world to see.  There is power in the Secret Place!
