Your Word for This Day: Jesus Prays for You

Thursday, October 31, 2013

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”

John 17:20-21

“I pray for those who will believe in Me…” What a beautiful assurance that we have as children of the Most High God that Jesus prays for us. You may have known that your grandmother prayed for you, your  Sunday school teacher prayed for you, your friend or colleague prayed for you, but do you know that Jesus prays for you? Even now, He sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for you!

Jesus prays for all those who believe in Him. He prays that we will be one as a people—loving each other, serving one another, lifting up His name and making a difference in this world. He prays that each one of us would have a deep relationship with His Holy Spirit and allow His word to transform us into the people we were destined to be. He prays that the world would see our transformed lives and know that He is the Son of God who was sent to deliver us from our sins. He prays that His Kingdom would be established in the earth through you.

Remember today, Jesus prays for you. The best part of it is that whatever the Son asks of the Father, He receives. So you can walk confidently knowing that if Jesus is praying for you, you cannot help but be victorious. Trust and obey Him and you will see!
