“And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.” James 3:18
“Psst…Did you hear what Laura said about Mr. Johnson?”
“Let’s pray for Joseph, did you hear that he was caught in…”
“I didn’t receive that sermon today, I found out that Pastor…”
It may be called “information”, labelled as “a prayer request”, or called “concern”, but what is it really?
How often are we partakers of gossip? We may not actually talk about another behind their back, but sometimes we entertain those who do. We allow people to speak negative things about others in our company because we don’t want to be rude and ask them to stop. But, we should not be used as a dumping ground for toxic waste, and that’s exactly what gossip is!
My friend, be careful what you say and be careful what you listen to. Do not let bad seeds be planted in you heart, because in due season they will spring up and they will choke the life out of you.
Children of God work for peace— they do whatever is necessary to ensure that the Prince of Peace is magnified. Peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. Don’t you want a harvest of righteousness in your life and in your family? Imagine a life where peace, joy, wholeness, contentment, godliness and holiness abound. Christ has made this possible. This life can be yours today!
