“Bless the LORD, O my soul;                And all that is within me, bless His holy name!

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” Psalm 103:1-2

Bless the Lord today! For He is good!

Let everything within you praise His name today. Your body may be feeling tired, but God is your strength. You may have lost your cool recently, but God is your peace. You may be facing some health challenges, but my friend, God is your healer. Jehovah Shammah, He is with you. Jehovah Raah, He is your Good Shepherd. Jehovah Tsidkenu, He is your Righteousness. He is El Elyon—the Most High God! Hallelujah! Praise be to God!

Today is the day to give God a great thanksgiving—the fruit of your lips—for all His benefits towards you. The Hebrew word for benefits is Gemuwl, and it has the idea of dealing fully and bountifully. It is an abundant reward from the hand of God.

In the season of harvest, we can look around and see how good God has been to us. He has taken you through difficult seasons, times when you thought nothing would work out for you and He has, by His awesome power, brought you into your wealthy place! God has caused the seeds that you have sown in the past to bring forth a harvest. He is the Lord of the Harvest, the Lord of Abundance, the Lord of plenty. As you bless the Lord today, recall His benefits toward you. Remember His abundant favour on your life and give thanks!
