“With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”  Psalm 91:16

By: Alana Mills

The Lord makes a powerful promise to us in this verse of scripture. To the believer who has set his love upon Jesus Christ, he or she is promised long life and is guaranteed to see God’s salvation. This does not necessarily mean that we will live to see eighty, ninety or a hundred years of life on this earth. It speaks about the quality of life that we are assured and can tap into as we pursue our passion to be conformed to the image and likeness of Christ.

That quality and freshness of life is renewed and sustained moment by moment as we continue to love the Lord with all our hearts and walk in obedience to His commands. Even when we do leave this earth, we continue living in and enjoying the glorious Presence of our Lord.

Jesus came that we might have a full and meaningful life – a life that is filled with purpose and pregnant with destiny. It denotes a standard of living that rises above the sickness, depression, negativity and misery that this world has to offer.

I encourage us today to see yourself seated with Christ in heavenly places. In Christ you are above only, never beneath. No matter what may be your portion, celebrate life in Jesus today and refuse to settle for anything less than God’s best for you.
