“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ” John 3:16
By: Diann J. Wilson
Most of us, if not all, know this famous scripture from the Bible. It describes a love that is almost impossible for us to comprehend, try as we might.
We, too, declare our love for others, but our love does not go as far as to cause us to give all we have, deny ourselves and die for others. Unlike the love of God, our love comes with conditions. We love those who love us. We find it difficult to love people who hurt, frustrate and disappoint us.
Be AWAKENED to the fact that God’s love for us demands that we not only love Him with everything that we are, but that we also LOVE our neighbours as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:39). This love demands that we even love our enemies (Matthew 5:44).
It does not matter how much we profess to know God and to do on his behalf, if we have not love we have nothing. “And now abide faith, hope and love, these three, but the greatest of these is love” (1Cor. 13:13).
It is love!!
