Your Word for This Day: “It is Grace.”

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9

You did not earn it. You could not buy it. And the truth is, you don’t even deserve it…and neither do I. Neither does the person down the street or the pastor preaching in the church.

There is not one person on this earth that is good enough to earn salvation.

We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. But, thank God! He has chosen to forgive us of our sins, and because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, now we can enjoy God’s holy presence, His abundant love and His awesome power. Now, we can live in victory! And that makes all the difference!

Today, be AWAKENED! Salvation is the gift of God. It is by grace, God’s unmerited favour, that we receive forgiveness of our sins and we who were once strangers to God, are now accepted into His family. We are His children and share in all that He has —peace, joy, love, victory, purpose and so much more!

Today, remember this: salvation is not by works. Salvation is by grace through faith. God asks us to believe in His Son Jesus Christ and then He makes us righteous. We have all made mistakes, and we will make a few more as we journey through life, but that doesn’t change the power of our God. We weren’t saved by works, neither will our salvation be maintained by works. It is a gift of God.  Receive the gift, thank Him for it and allow Him to work this gift and all of its benefits in and through you as you submit to Him and yield to His Spirit in you. It is Grace!
