“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8
“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Whatever you think about extensively, whatever you meditate on, will be reflected in the way you live your life. In a nutshell, your thoughts determine your attitude.
Your attitude is the way you see and feel about things, people and events. Attitude is so important because it is revealed in the way we speak and behave.
It reveals you.
Within you is the Power to have the right attitude. As children of God we believe that with God all things are possible and that everything works together for our good. We are joyful, we are thankful, we are honourable.
The evidence of our faith in Jesus Christ is a transformed life— we are changing, we are not who we were before we believed. A transformed life is a result of a transformed mind which is the result of faith in Jesus Christ. That is our witness, the power of God at work in our lives.
Today, be careful what you meditate on. Choose not to meditate on negative thoughts, because if you do, you will not develop the right attitude and your words and behaviour will follow suit. If a thought crosses your mind and it doesn’t line up with the word of God, do not meditate on it. Confront it with truth and it will have to go.
You are a child of God. You have His power in you! You can have the right attitude!
