Your Word for This Day: “Power to Stand”

Tuesday, August 19, 2014

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. Stand your ground… ”   Ephesians 6:10,11, 14a NLT

You may not know it yet, but you are a solider.

Yes, an anointed, appointed Holy-Ghost empowered solider. The minute that you put your faith in Jesus Christ, not only did you become part of the family of God, you were also enlisted into an army—God’s army.

Don’t let the thought of war scare you. As a child of the King, you have great authority and power delegated to you!

A wise woman once said, “Christians are part of the only army that when we step one foot onto the battle ground, we step out as victors. We don’t have to wait until the end of the battle; in Christ, we have already won. ” Did you hear that? We win!

Within you is the Power to stand.

Contrary to what you may think, you don’t have an enemy wearing clothes.

We have one common enemy—the devil. He has one mission— to steal, kill and destroy.

But, you are on the winning side. You don’t have to fear. Don’t you dare back down. Stand! You are a child of the king with a great inheritance. You can have what God has promised you. You can become what God says you are.

Put on God’s armour. Keep your weapon (the Word of God) sharp with prayer. Keep your heart pure. Love God and love your neighbours. Obey the Commander of the army. Look out for your fellow soldiers.

Be strong in the Lord today. He is your victory!
