Your Word for This Day: “Stand in Truth”

Thursday, April 9, 2015

Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him —but some of them doubted!” Matthew 28:16-17 ERV

Doubt. That simple 5-letter word that packs a deadly punch.  It can assail your dreams and tear apart your goals. It can talk you out of what God has brought you into. It can fill your heart with anxieties, distress and frustration. It will make your life miserable.

To doubt is to be uncertain about something; to consider something to be unlikely; to waver in your opinion.

Wavering is a very counterproductive. The word of God says that anyone who doubts is “like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind… he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways”  (James 1:6,8).

In this time of our lives we cannot afford to be double-minded and unstable in all our ways. God has so much in store for us and His Kingdom must advance on the earth. We must be rooted and grounded in Truth, and able to stand firm in the midst of adversity.

When the disciples saw Jesus after He had raised from the dead, they worshipped Him, but some of them doubted that it was really Him.

How about you, His modern day disciple? Is there doubt in your heart?

Do you expect to see Jesus turn up in your situation? Do you expect to see Him work things out for your good? Do you expect Him to be true to His word and fulfill His promises to you?

Will you worship without doubt? Will you bless God for His faithfulness? Will you stand on the word of God and declare that God’s promises will be fulfilled in your life just as He said?

I encourage you today to ask the Holy Spirit to help you to remain steadfast in truth and to keep pressing on towards your destiny!

Let your faith in God arise and hold fast to His promises!

Look, Jesus is with you!
