love-of-god-tree-heart

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge.” Ephesians 3:17-19

Isn’t it amazing and absolutely astonishing the wonder of God’s love?  We speak about it so casually and take it so much for granted that we sometimes lose the value of it.

Apostle Paul in praying for the Ephesians prayed that they would have the power to understand the love of God.  He knew that the love of God could not be understood without the help of the Holy Spirit. Oh, what manner of love the Father has given to us, in sending His only son to die on a cross for a sinful people.

Today, let us pause and appreciate the love of God.  The love that was demonstrated in Blood, the sinless blood of Jesus Christ.

My friend, you will never on your own, be able to know and fully appreciate the love that surpasses knowledge but if you would ask the Holy Spirit, He will enable you to grow in your understanding of that love. And as you do, you will be powered by Him to show that love to others, even those who hurt you and cause you much pain.

God’s love is immeasurable and unconditional. That is, the love that is available for you all the time.

You know, when we boast that we are covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, from the crown of our heads to the soles of our feet, we are really saying that we are covered in God’s love from head to toe.

When we say that God loves us we are really saying that God bled for us. Yes, in God’s vocabulary loving meant bleeding.  His love was spelt blood.  He loved us so much that He bled for us.

Are you covered in His love, oh, I mean His Blood? Are you living and loving as though you are?  Lets ask the Holy Spirit to help us grasp the love of Christ so that we can apply it continuously to our lives.
