Your Word for This Day:

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.   Psalm 47:1-2

When I think of this Scripture I envision the crowd at a sports game. And, not just any sports game, but a super-important game like game 6 of the NBA Playoffs or the NFL Super bowl or the final game of the World Cup.

The crowds are at their loudest and the energy is electrifying.

Now, imagine the pandemonium when your favourite team wins! Shouts, screams, high fives, and more! We celebrate when we (or those we support) are victorious!

This scene my friend, cannot compare to what takes place when the people of God, who know that they are victorious in Jesus Christ and know that they have already won the battle, come together and celebrate God!

We can shout to the Lord with a voice of triumph and cries of joy because in Him we have won the victory. The enemy of our souls has been defeated and we have been delivered and set free.

The Lord Most High is awesome, He is a great King over all the earth. This is bigger than a sports team, a city or a nation— Jesus Christ has overcome the world.

Do you know that you are victorious today?

When was the last time you celebrated your victory in Christ Jesus?

When was the last time that you flat-out lost it in praise and celebration to the One who has saved you?

No earthly person or team deserves our praise as God does. He alone is worthy. He alone has won the victory!

Today is your day to celebrate—You are on the winning side!
