Your Word for This Day: “Joy in Heaven”

Monday, June 29, 2015

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.  Luke 15:7

When the Bible speaks about heaven, it describes its magnificent beauty and tells of the great activity that is taking place. The angels and all the inhabitants are continuously worshipping God and declaring His Holiness night and day. I’m sure this place is greater than anything we can imagine.

Now think of this, the Scripture says that there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents—one who has chosen to put his or her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and turn from a life of sin. Salvation is celebrated in heaven!

If you have already experienced salvation, there was joy in heaven when you said “yes” to Jesus.

Why? Because you acknowledged the work of Jesus Christ—His dying on the cross to save you—and that brings joy to the Father’s heart, and that in turn makes all of heaven rejoice.

Salvation means that you have a new identity,  are repositioned to walk in all that God has prepared for you and are empowered to fulfill you part in God’s eternal plan.

Now, think of those around you who have yet to experience Salvation. Imagine, if you can, the joy that will break out in heaven when they say “yes”.

We have a privilege to share the Good news of Jesus Christ with others in LOVE. Friends, let’s go out of our way to demonstrate the love of God and the grace of Jesus Christ that we have so freely received.

Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)

As disciples of Jesus Christ, let us work to represent Him accurately, saying and doing the things He would have said and done. We are testimonies of the transforming power of the Holy Spirit and He can and will use us to draw people to Jesus. What a joy that is in and of itself.

Be challenged today to share the new life that you have received!

Blessings,

Michelle
