Your Word For This Day: “Saved Through Life”

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

“For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends with God.” Romans 5:10-11 NLT

Have you ever heard of an organ donor list? It’s a list of the names of individuals who are very sick, and are in need of an organ transplant to live.

Sometimes, family members can donate organs, such as kidneys, to the sick relative, but in many cases, a healthy stranger who has died suddenly has his or her organs donated.  Through another person’s death, the sick individual receives another opportunity to live.

You may never have needed an organ transplant, but every one of us has been in need of life.

Let me explain.

We have all sinned.

We have all been enemies of God at one point in our lives.

We were dead in sin and trespasses, but, through the death of Jesus Christ we have received life. He has given us the opportunity to live the abundant life.

And, one aspect of this life is this: it is a life of friendship.

Through His death, Jesus has restored friendship between us and God.

That’s amazing.

We have a wonderful new relationship. And ,through this friendship we are certainly saved by the life of Jesus.

His life in us makes what was once impossible to us become possible. His life in us makes each day worth living.

We can now rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends with God.  God can be trusted – We can depend on Him. He will never leave us or forsake us.

Have you explored this relationship? Have you discovered the treasures that this friendship holds?

Take the time to enjoy the friendship that has been restored in Jesus Christ.

Blessings,

Michelle
