Your Word for This Day: “Wisdom for Life”

Thursday, July 9, 2015

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

Knowledge is a familiarity with someone or something. Many times knowledge is acquired through investigation and study. True knowledge that can really bring change to our lives begins with the fear of the Lord.

What does it mean to fear the Lord?  It certainly does not mean to run away from Him, but it means to run to Him. This fear is a reverential fear that holds God in high esteem, understanding that He is not a man like us nor does He behave like us.

As we take the time to study the word of the Lord and gain accurate information about God, we begin to increase in knowledge. This knowledge must cause us to change in the way we behave and respond to circumstances and situations that we encounter on our journey of life.

Today, let us decide once and for all to seek the Lord, to discover all that we can about Him through His word so that we can be wise and make wise choices in all areas of our lives.  Let us begin our journey to acquire the true knowledge, the knowledge that produces transformation and reformation.

Be blessed as you journey towards The Truth.
