Your Word for This Day: Hope in Life!

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:8-10 ‭KJV‬‬

Without life, death is not possible, and without death, life is not possible.

As children of God, the lives that you and I lead would not be possible without the death of Jesus Christ. Through Christ, we have received life and victory, therefore, it doesn’t matter what we go through in life, we cannot be defeated. We will always rise.

We may be troubled on every side – injustice, sickness, financial challenges – but we are not to be distressed – God is with us and He sees everything that is taking place.

We may be perplexed – unexpected issues, sudden challenges, unusual problems – but we are not to be in despair – God is for us and will work out everything for our good.

We may be persecuted – slander, gossip, and the like – but we are not to feel forsaken, God knows us and will fight for us.

We may even be cast down – it seems like we can’t go any lower than we are feeling now… but we are not destroyed! Once there is life, there is hope!

We share in Jesus’ suffering, so that the life of Christ may be made real in our body!

And, through our suffering, we can help others. We are a source of encouragement and support to others who are facing what we have been through. When we go through things, it’s not just about us… we are becoming a testimony of what God can do. If He has saved us and brought us through, He will do it for others. He loves us all the same.

It doesn’t matter how bad it may look, or how bleak the diagnoses is, remember this truth today: If God be for us, who can be against us. Jesus died for us so that we may have life and the life of Christ causes us to triumph in all things.
