“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5: 22-23
The God that we serve is amazing.
He is high and lofty, yet His Spirit lives within us.
He is a consuming fire, yet His merciful heart is turned towards us.
He hates sin, but loves sinners.
God’s generosity and considerate nature are experienced by all who would enter into covenant with Him through faith in His Son Jesus Christ.
The Lord is kind towards us. He gives us what we don’t deserve and doesn’t treat us as we do deserve. And, we who abide in Him must in turn be kind to other. We cannot shun those who are different from us or who have done us wrong. We have a responsibility and a privilege to manifest the love of Jesus through kindness towards others. We have been forgiven much, and this must drive us to love much in thought, word and action. God has given us an example and we must follow suit.
Today, I challenge you to think of one person that you can share the love of Jesus with through a kind word or deed. Now, do something about it!
You hold within your hands the answer to the need that you see. It’s more than quoting a scripture or speaking in tongues; it’s about faith in action. We believe Jesus loves us and cares for all of us, so we are compelled to share His love and care with those we meet.
We are in this together!
