“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 NIV
I love this translation of this verse of Scripture. It says to us that God will carry on the good work that He has begun in us until it’s completed.
He will carry it on. God doesn’t just start the good work in you and then come back to see if it’s finished. No, He’s in the mix with you. He’s in your days and in your nights. He’s in your highs and in your lows. He’s where you are and where you’re going to be, all at the same time. He is with you always. He has promised to never leave you or forsake you.
God is involved in the process of life.
Everything in this world was spoken into existence. God said, “Let there be” and there was… but, not so for man. God formed man from the dust and breathed His breath into him and he became a living being.
Even when sin entered the picture, God got up close and personal with us again – He sent His only Son Jesus to the earth to walk the streets, talk to people, touch lepers, save weddings, hug children, break bread and ultimately die on a cross to save us.
God is involved in the process of our lives.
Philippians 2:13 says that it is God who “works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose”. God is working in us to bring about His will in our lives and in our spheres of influence. He is revealing His Kingdom through us!
It’s not that we have nothing to do in the process… we do have free will. We must say “yes” to God’s will for our lives and walk it out by faith. What this means for us is that when God has our “yes”, He is given access to every part of us to do what pleases Him. In our “yes”, we acknowledge our total dependence on Him.
So today, let’s give God thanks and praise for all that He has done, is doing and has yet to do in and through us.
And, allow me, on behalf of our team, to say thank you for being a part of this family. Thank you for reading our daily devotionals. Thank you for sharing them and thank you for your encouragement and love. Your presence is a blessing to us and we appreciate you!
No one can give God thanks for you like you can. I encourage you today to stop and give God a high note of praise.
Gratitude opens up doors that seemed impossible to open. Thanksgiving is a key to the next level.
God is indeed good!
