Your Word for This Day: “A NEW Understanding!”

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

“Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”” Mark 9:24 whatdoyoureallybeleive

What do you believe about God?

I know that you would instantly go through your mind and begin to quote and say all the biblical truth. But, stop and think for a minute, and really think…

Do you really believe that God is a good God?  If you really believe that fact down inside of your heart, not with your mind, you will respond to life’s challenges differently, you will wake up grateful every morning, whether the sun is shining or the rain is falling, you would love your enemies and you would pray for those who hurt you.  God is a good God in every situation that we may face.  This belief of God causes us to have peace in the midst of storms and disasters.

It is okay to assess what we believe of God.  The disciples’ beliefs about Jesus changed drastically after His resurrection.  When Jesus was arrested they all ran for fear of suffering the same fate like him, but after the resurrection and He walked, talked and ate with them, we read of them being willing to die for the cause of Christ, and most of them actually did.

Why?  Because their belief of Christ changed.

Let us honestly admit where we need to adjust what we believe of God so that we can access all that He has for us.  As the publican prayed, we pray, “Lord I believe, help thou my unbelief.”

To your new understanding!
