Your Word for This Day: “Blessed to be a Blessing!”

Monday, March 7, 2016

And Laban said to him, “Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.” Genesis 30:27

Blessed-to-be-a-blessing

It was the epic love story. Jacob served his uncle faithfully for 14 years in order to marry the woman that he loved, Laban’s daughter Rachel. But, there was something more to the story. During that time, Laban was blessed! Under the hand of Jacob, Laban’s livestock and his wealth increased!

It was not just Jacob’s innovative agricultural ideas or his cutting-edge shepherding techniques that caused Laban to prosper, there was something greater at work.

Jacob was blessed by God.

Many years before, God had spoken to his grandfather Abraham, and had promised to bless Abraham and his descendants (Genesis 12). And, God had been faithful to this promise. Jacob had this generational blessing of God and Laban’s life was touched by it. God’s blessing made the difference!

Do you know that you are blessed by God?

In Christ, God has blessed us abundantly! We are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. We are blessed with God’s indwelling presence! We are so blessed!

Do you know that other people are blessed by the blessing of God on your life?

Wherever you are or wherever you may go, you are anointed to make a difference. God uses us to be a blessing to others as we make ourselves available to Him. As we use our gifts and talents, our time and our treasures to help those around us we demonstrate the love of God which is one of the greatest blessings we have every received.

We have received so much, may we give much! We are blessed to be a blessing!

Have a great Monday!
Michelle
