Your Word for This Day: “He Served”

Tuesday, March 22, 2016

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

A blessed morning to you!

We are back! We apologize for the devotionals that you missed on Friday and Monday. They were not sent out, and we thank you for your understanding. We are here today with a word to encourage, inspire and challenge you to go deeper in your walk with God!

During this week many believers around the world are reflecting on the service, love and sacrifice of Jesus of Nazareth, the ultimate Giver. Not only did He give of His time, His energy and His talent to bless the lives of others, He gave His life that we would receive what we could never have earned – eternal life with the Father.

Jesus Himself said that He came not to be served, but to serve. He didn’t come to be placed on an earthly throne and receive the praises of many. He came to serve those whom He created and to love those who despised Him. He reached out to the outcasts and the rejects of society. He crossed racial and gender divides. He came to be rejected, ridiculed and scorned, so that we would accepted, honoured and rejoiced over by God the Father. He set the example for us to follow.

As we learn from our Teacher and Saviour, let us endeavor today to honour His sacrifice for us by living a life that pleases Him and this includes serving others in love. We demonstrate that we are true believers in Christ as we live in love and serve others.

To the end of His life, Jesus showed us how we are to give, serve and touch the lives of others. Let it be our prayer that we do the same.

Have a blessed day!
