Your Word for This Day: “He Loves”

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 soloved

God had spoken through the prophets about His love for His people. He told them how much He cared for them and how He was with them. And, when the time was right, He sent His only begotten Son to the earth to demonstrate His love in a very real way.

Jesus came to reveal the heart of the Father. He showed us what love looked like. He showed us what love felt like. He showed us what love sounded like. He showed us what loves does.

The crucifixion on Calvary was the ultimate demonstration of perfect love. And it was this love that gained us entrance into God’s family and opened up to us a dimension of living that far surpasses the best that we can imagine.

One of the ways that God continues to reveal His love to the people of the earth is through His children who have received His Son. As we are loved, we are to love others. As we have received, we are to give. As we serve others, God uses us to demonstrate His love in tangible ways.

The Father so loved us that He gave us Jesus. Jesus so loved us that He gave us His life. Love and giving always go together.

May it be our prayer that through our loving, serving and giving that others would encounter the love of Jesus Christ and receive the gift that He gives – eternal life.  May we stretch ourselves to demonstrate the love of God to someone else today.
