Your Word for This Day: “The Countdown”

Thursday, March 24, 2016

“And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.” Luke 22: 41-43

jesus_prayerCan you throw your mind back to visualize what Jesus must have felt the day before His Crucifixion?  Can you imagine the apprehension, the anxiety, the anguish and the thoughts that were swirling around in Jesus’ head as He got closer and closer to fulfilling His purpose?

Remember that Jesus was totally man, just like you and I and so He would have been experiencing all that we would experience when we are about to do something drastic in our lives.  So often we tend to forget that Jesus was human just as we are.  It was grace that caused Him to succeed and this grace is available to us His children.

Are you facing a major situation?  Do you have a decision to make that will have a great impact on your life and the lives of others?  Are you having your own countdown and you are feeling overwhelmed, confused and dismay?  If so, please do not despair, there is hope.  There was hope for Jesus and there is hope for you. The same Spirit that helped Jesus make it through His Gethsemane is waiting to help you and I through ours.

In His hour of need, Jesus called out to the Father,  He prayed and He surrendered.  We can do the same for Jesus is our pattern for success in life.  Cry out to God, pray and surrender the situation to Him with a sincere heart and I guarantee you that He will send angels to strengthen and sustain you through it all.

Don’t look around in confusion wondering what you should do, look up to Him from where your help, all of your help comes from.  He knows, He cares and He understands because He has experienced what you are experiencing right now.  Do what He did. It worked for Him and it will work for you.

To your breakthrough.
