“And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
Our relationship with God is a holistic one- He leaves no part out. He cares about every part of you because He made you so wonderfully complex! God knows that when every part of our beings is aligned with Him, we will prosper and be in health, just as our souls prosper.
Loving the Lord with all of our strength starts with knowing that our bodies really belong to God. His Spirit dwells within us, therefore we should not do or eat things that defile our bodies – rather, we are to treat His Temple well.
This includes being physically fit.
Nope, I’m not talking about having washboard abs, big biceps or being able to run a 20 mile marathon! It’s about being in the best shape we can be so that we can fulfill our God-given destiny!
Exercise is important!
- Exercise improves your mood.
- Exercise boosts your energy.
- Exercise helps you control your weight.
- Exercise helps your body to fight disease and sickness.
- Exercise helps you to sleep better.
All of these benefits work together to help us to be our best selves – ready and willing to take on life and the challenges that come our way! My friend, by making an investment in your physical health today, you cannot lose tomorrow!
Today, let’s demonstrate our love for God by taking care of our bodies! We will love Him with all our strength!
