Your Word for This Day: “Seated in Christ”

“And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…” Ephesians 2:6

together...

As we continue to reflect on Ephesians 2, we are being reminded of the awesome love that God has for us and the great work that was accomplished by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s really too wonderful to be aptly described by words!

We, who were once dead in sin, have been given new life in Christ Jesus.

And, new life was just the start of it! He raised us up and seated us in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. We have moved from a place of separation from God because of sin, to a place of oneness with Him, through faith. This means everything for us!

Being seated in Christ means that we not only get unlimited access to the presence of God, but everything that is His we are invited to partake in!  That’s why Jesus said that He came to give us life and life to the full!

Perfect peace, boundless love, overwhelming joy, wisdom, favour, authority and more – all of this is ours in Christ. Our day to day existence on earth gets better and better because of where we are now seated spiritually.

We are seated in a place of of authority, power and victory. Being seated in Him means that defeat is not an option for us. Failure is not an option. So, although our feet may touch the ground, we really are supposed to be living from a elevated position. You are above your obstacles. You don’t have to spar with the enemy. You don’t have to give in to temptation. God has raised you up and empowered you to be able to live victoriously in His Son.

Lastly, we are seated together. In giving us new life and raising us up, Jesus created for Himself a body of people – His Body – that are part of Him. We are in this together. We have a new life and a new family.

As you meditate on this word today, let it stir your faith. Remind yourself Who you belong to and where you belong and let this truth shape your reality today! There is much more to you than meets the eye.

Blessings!

Michelle
