“Praise the LordPraise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!” Psalm 150: 1-2

praise you

PRAISE THE LORD! Praise Him with instruments, praise Him in song, praise Him in dance, praise Him in the sanctuary, praise Him in the earth! For He has done great and mighty acts and His greatness is excellent. He is a great God!

One of the things about praise is, just like prayer, it can be done anywhere! There is no specific rule as to where you should praise God. It is not something that is only done in church on a Sunday morning or on a Wednesday night – praise is a lifestyle. All you really need to start is a heart that is grateful to God for who He is and what He does.

In the sanctuary… In the earth… In the mall… In school… In work… On the bus… Wherever you are, you can praise the Lord. And, you don’t have to shout or jump up and down, you can simply rejoice in Him and be glad, and use your mouth to declare His greatness.

As we ascribe praise to the Lord in public, we do 2 things:

  1. We acknowledge the presence of God, celebrate His goodness and ascribe glory to Him. We understand for ourselves that God is with us through the presence of His Holy Spirit and that He is leading and helping us as we go.
  2. Our praise is a testimony to others that God is alive and working in our lives. We are His witnesses in the earth and ambassadors of His Kingdom. We are part of a different culture which we should never be afraid to display.

Sometimes, we are so concerned with what people will think that it causes us to hold back and not want to “offend” people with our faith. But, the interesting thing is this… many others don’t really mind offending us with their lifestyles… People swear, gossip, cheat and lie around us and expect us to applaud.

But those who know better, must do better! We are sent to be a light in the earth. We are respectful, we do our best, and we acknowledge our God.

Here is today’s praise prompt: “Lord, I thank you! I bless you! I give you the praise! Here in this place, I will declare your goodness…”

God is everywhere and so we can praise Him everywhere! Let everything that has breath praise our God!

Have a fantastic Friday!
