“Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.” 1 Samuel 12:24
Can you believe it? We are already at the end of the June. This month we have journeyed through upgrading our faithfulness – in our relationships with God, ourselves and with others, and we have seen how important being faithful is.
How has it been for you? Have you been able to see the areas where you can take your faithfulness up a notch? I certainly have, and I know that this is only the beginning.
Please allow me to share with you once again important words on faithfulness:
In our individual relationships with our heavenly Father, faithfulness is required from both parties. God is faithful to us (praise the Lord for that!), but, we must also be faithful to Him. Faithful to obey His word, faithful to trust Him, faithful to love Him and put His first in our lives and faithful to serve Him.
If you looked in the dictionary, you would find a technical definition that says, “To follow through with a commitment regardless of difficulty.” That’s a good definition.
Another way of saying it is: “Faithfulness is love hanging on.”
It is love saying, “I will not quit.” Although you may not feel happy in the moment or understand all that’s happening around you, you will not turn your back on God and walk away from Him.
You know that He is faithful and you know that you are faithful to believe every word that HE has promised. And, because of His great love for you and your love for Him, you will remain faithful in your relationship. Faithfulness and love always go hand in hand. Faithfulness is love hanging on.
Faithfulness says, “Even though there is discouragement and disappointment, I will not let go, I will not quit. I will keep on loving God and serving Him, because God has called me to be faithful.”
Let us determine today that our love will hang on. We will be faithful. It is love that caused Jesus to hang on a tree for us – taking our punishment and forgiving us of our sins. When things got really tough, He didn’t turn His back on us… He was faithful to the end. And so, He deserves our faithfulness – there is no other way to love Him, to serve Him, to live for Him, but faithfully.
May the Holy Spirit continue to teach us and guide in the ways which we can upgrade our faithfulness so that we soar higher in Him. Let the Fruit of Faithfulness blossom in our lives in a greater way!
Have a beautiful and fantastic day!
