Your Word for This Day: “Living Fear Free”

“I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.” Psalm 3:6
fearless

Living in the physical world causes us to put more emphasis on the things that are seen and experienced, than on the things that are written in God’s Word and the reality of His Spirit. Even if in the natural realm there seems to be ten thousand people against you, if you would only use your spiritual senses you would realize that there are more for you than be against you. This knowledge and insight will empower you to confront fear and cause it to flee.

Fear is an emotion that has developed within God’s children everywhere in the world.  Many of us can quote 2 Timothy 1:7 that states, “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  Yet with all the knowledge that we have, we have not been able to defeat the spirit of fear! What is it about fear that is so addictive and transferable?  Why is it easier to fear than to trust?

In 2 Kings 6: 16-17, we read of the Prophet Elisha asking God to open the eyes of his servant so that he could see that, in the spirit realm, the heavenly army sent to defend them outnumbered the army that surrounded them in the natural. God answered Elisha’s prayer and when his servant’s eyes were opened in the spirit, he came face to face with the truth of God’s Word.

Will you let God do the same for you?  Will you refuse to be afraid and go forth in the strength of the Lord?  Remember there are more angels on assignment to protect and minister to you than the enemies that may rise up against you. In this be confident!

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that You would open the eyes of my understanding so that I may know without a doubt that You are with me, Your rod and staff will continue to comfort and guide me every day of my life. Amen.
