“He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3
Righteousness means right standing with God. Can you imagine that we do not have to do anything to be in right standing with God? Jesus Christ our Shepherd has done it all. Paid it all. He has given it all so that we can experience and live in righteousness with God.
You and I do not know the way of righteousness. Our righteousness is like filthy rags in God’s eyes, but we need not worry. The Shepherd knows the way, for He is the way of righteousness.
You belong to Him and He takes His responsibilities very seriously. Allow Him to lead you in the way of righteousness. Give up the struggle. Stop being so determined to do things your way. Your way is not the best way. His way is best. His way is righteousness. His way is peace and wholeness.
Let Him lead you in His way – the paths of righteousness.
His paths are the ones that conform to His holiness, for His holiness is far above any idea of holiness that we could think of. However, we do not have to do it; He is the one doing all the guiding and leading.
He chooses the path that leads to His righteousness and again, all we have to do is to follow. Be a good follower of His direction and leading.
I choose to allow my Shepherd to lead me in His path of righteousness. I trust Him with my life and all is well.
