“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.” 1 John 4:18
In the word of God, we find the phrase “Fear not” 365 times. Fear is the first emotion that floods our being when we are in trouble or when we find ourselves in unfamiliar territories. Sometimes fear creeps in on us, even though externally there is no apparent reason for it.
The spirit of fear is a very persistent spirit and it has the ability to disable us quickly. It is the enemy’s most powerful attack on a child of God. However, knowing the Shepherd and trusting Him allows us to navigate through the flood of fear successfully.
“I will fear no evil. I will fear no one.” This is a conscious position you must take and act upon it. When the pangs of fear seem to overwhelm you, open your mouth and declare:
“I will not fear any evil.”
If God has taken the time to tell us so many times in His word that we must not be afraid, then this has to be very important for our well-being.
Let us do what the word of God declares. Whether there is something to fear or not, we will choose not to fear for God did not give us a spirit of fear. The enemy tries his best to give us that spirit. Our God has given us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. We will not fear.
There is no fear in God, and so there is no fear in me, for I am in God.
