“…but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” Philippians 3:13
If I am to go forward in life, I must stop looking back. I must stop looking back at all that happened in the past. Looking back depletes my energy and creates thoughts of regrets and bitterness. In the book of Isaiah, we read of God’s warning to forget the former thing because He is doing a new thing.
Today, I choose to move forward and to advance towards the new thing that God is doing. I will not blame God or anyone else for the past. The past is the past, it is over. Today is a new day full of endless possibilities and opportunities.
I say “no” to self-pity and regret, no to failures and defeat of the past, no to the chains and shackles that seek to keep me in bondage. Today I let go of the past. I move forward. I advance.
I am moving forward.
