Your Word for This Day: “The Tomb is Empty…Just as HE SAID.”

Monday, April 17, 2017

Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here!  He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. ”  Matthew 28:5-6

The women went to the tomb where Jesus had been laid, carrying the spices prepared for His body. With heavy hearts they walked, and what they saw surprised them. The large stone that covered the mouth of the tomb was rolled away, and the guards were passed out on the ground. An angel spoke to them, “I know you are looking for Jesus, but He isn’t here. He is risen from the dead, just as he said it would happen…”

Just as He said it would happen.

Jesus told His disciples that He would die and rise again. But, they did not believe Him. Even as they witnessed the crucifixion, they allowed what they saw and heard to overrule what Jesus said. But, early on that Sunday morning, over two thousand years, He rose from the dead… just as He said.

Every word that Jesus said came to pass. Every word of God is true. He does not kid around, He does not exaggerate, He does not lie. Every word that comes out of His mouth is truth. That’s why you can place your faith in His word. That’s why you can build your life on His word. That’s why you can trust in Him totally. If He said it, it will happen just as He said. As we celebrate His death and resurrection, let’s take the time to celebrate His faithfulness to His word in our lives.

What has God said to you in His word? What promise are you waiting for? Continue to trust in Him. At the right time, it will happen just as He said. Be encouraged!
