Your Word for This Day: “Joy is Mine”

Friday, April 28, 2017

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.  Revelation 4:11

The word pleasure is synonymous with the word joy.  Pleasure brings joy.  We were created to bring pleasure and joy to the Lord every day of our lives.  How do we do that you may ask?  The answer is simply this: When we observe to do all that is written in The Book.

The knowledge that we are bringing pleasure and joy to the Lord, causes us to experience pleasure and joy ourselves. Knowing that God is pleased with us and our relationship with Him, is supposed to bring a smile to our faces and overall joy to our lives. There is nothing more potent to lift a person’s spirit than joy.

Joy is also contagious. When there is one joyful person in the room, everyone there experiences joy also.

One of the characteristics of the Kingdom of God is joy.  Our God is full of joy, and so, as His children we too must be full of joy.

Doing exactly what the Word commands brings that joy.  Others may not understand it, but we do.  In God’s presence there is fullness of joy.  As we maintain a continuous, intimate relationship with God, we too will continuously experience His joy.

Today, purpose in your heart to bring pleasure and joy to the Father by walking in obedience to His word. As you do so you will experience a joy that is unspeakable and full, so full of glory.

Child of God, God’s joy is available to you right now.  Tap into it.  Soak in it.  Refuse to let the cares of the world rob you of God’s joy.  God’s got everything under control.  Let go and let God have His way.

As you do that you will begin to feel the effects of God’s joy and you will sing again.

Let God’s joy be your strength and your joy today.
