Your Word for This Day: “The Benefits of Wisdom: Crowned with Glory”

Thursday, May 18, 2017

“My child, listen when your father corrects you. Don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and be a chain of honor around your neck.” Proverbs 1:8-9

A life lived with godly wisdom is a life well lived! The wisdom from above can only enhance our days on the earth – we learn how to see accurately and to walk in all that God has promised us. We learn how to accept, access and steward His blessings to us.

Wisdom protects us, watches overs us, promotes us and honors all who seek after it and apply it to their lives. We continue to look at the benefits of wisdom today with a very special one: Wisdom will crown you with grace and glory.

4. Wisdom Crowns you with Grace and Glory.

Proverbs 4:9 says “She [Wisdom] will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

When we embrace wisdom, she places an ornament of grace on our head. This is powerful for 2 reasons. One, grace is the unmerited favor of God toward us. It covers us – our imperfections, shortcomings and whatever else is considered to be a “blemish” in our lives. The grace of God shines through us and enables us to be seen in the light of God’s love. Two, grace is also the enabling power of God operating in our lives. With the ornament of grace upon our head, we are marked as God’s vessels through which His Spirit – the Spirit of Wisdom – is operating. With His grace, we are enabled to do what we didn’t even  think was possible.

Wisdom also delivers to all those who love her a crown of glory. Just imagine that! This crown also identifies us as God’s children. We are royalty and wear His glory because we are seeking for His guidance as we walk through this life, and this, my friends, is very important. God’s children will walk in His ways.
Isn’t this great? Wisdom adorns us with grace and glory. It will make you beautiful, and a joy to behold!

Moment of Reflection: What are your thoughts on being crowned with grace and glory? What difference will that make in your life?
