“So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.” Philippians 3:15-16 MSG
In every season that we walk through, especially difficult seasons, we must make a conscious effort to focus our thoughts on positive things and people.
Take control of your thought processes.
Whatever we focus on always becomes stronger and larger in our minds. If we focus on God and what He says in the Word, it will empower us. If we focus on the situation that is confronting us then that becomes even bigger and it literally devours us. Choose to focus on things that are positive.
In times like these, bring to mind all the good things that God did for you in times past. Make a memorial of all the victories that you won, of all the challenges that you overcame, and of all the obstacles that were turned into stepping stones to get you out of the deep pits. Recall the goodness of God. Count your blessings and count them aloud. Let your mind hear what your spirit is saying. Flood your mind with the good and peaceful thoughts. As you do so you will find that you have less time to rehearse all the negative things that have happened or may be happening now. In fact, as you begin to think thoughts of peace, joy, love, wholeness and contention, you will find that you begin to attract those same things in your life, causing a shift in your situation.
Start thinking and focusing on what you want to achieve at the end of it all. Identify a goal and concentrate on it. Fill your thoughts with positive affirmations and change the atmosphere around you. Don’t magnify the situation by focusing on it. Focus on God and magnify Him.
