“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.“ Job 42:5
There is something about the difficult times in our lives that causes us to turn to God. We can use these seasons that we experience to develop our personal relationship with God. If your relationship was good, work at getting it better and if it was better work at getting it to the best level possible. There is always higher to go with God.
From the beginning, Job’s relationship with God was good (Job 1:8), but at the end of his season of bad things happening to him, it got better than it was. He came to know God at another level. He understood things about God that he had never known before. This would not have been possible had he not gone through the difficulties and testing. They truly worked together for Job’s good.
Your trials and persecution can work together for your good too. Use the time to delve into the Word of God. Surround yourself with those who could encourage you and counsel you in the way of the Lord. Learn more about Him. Let this time be the season when the Word of God becomes flesh to you. Love Him more. Pray more. Serve more. Worship more. Fellowship more. Share the Word with others more. Like Jesus did in the wilderness do so yourself. Live on the word of God, For “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
