Your Word for This Day: “I DO HAVE JOY!”

Friday, July 7, 2017

“Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LordSeek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth.” Psalm 105:3-5

As you journey through the different seasons of your life, especially in the difficult ones, I want you to remember this powerful quote that I once read in a book:

“In every adverse situation, there is a seed of equivalent or greater benefit*.”

Take the time to search for the seed of equal or greater benefit in challenging times.  Remember, God uses everything and so, even in the terrible circumstances there is something that we can learn or use.  There is something in that dark situation that will be beneficial to you later on as you continue your walk with God.

Yes, stuff happens. But these things do not determine our joy. Our joy is in the Lord our God. In His presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hand there are pleasures forever more. Happiness depends not on the things that happen but joy comes from our relationship with the Lord.

Determine in your heart to let nothing interfere with your joy in the Lord. Things come and they go. People come and they go. Situations come and they go. But God abides forever. He comes in us, and He never leaves us. When He comes, He stays so that our joy may be complete. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength as you choose to become better and not bitter through your trials and difficult times. You can, and will make it!
