Your Word for This Day: “Born for Greatness”

Friday, September 1, 2017

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

The more that you read the Bible narratives and see the people that God uses to establish His Kingdom rule on earth, the more you realize how great God really is.

Why? Well, what you find is that the great men and women of the Bible were normal people just like you and I. What made them great is that were used mightily by God.  Just like Jesus they had humble beginnings and as they yielded to God they were used by Him to do awesome things that made them great.

You, too, are born for greatness.  Your lineage and legacy may not include those who the world considers to be great, but believe me, because of the God that lives in you, you are already great and can achieve greatness in this life.

Everything and everyone that God has created was made for some great purpose.  When man fell in the garden of Eden, it appeared for a time that man’s purpose was aborted, but Jesus Christ came and through His redemptive work, man’s true purpose was re-established.

As we yield to the finished work of the Cross through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, we are re-connected to God, and so, our original purpose can be fulfilled.  Without God we are just ‘born’, but with God we are born for greatness.  Not our greatness, but His greatness manifested through us, His yielded vessels.
