Your Word for This Day: “Living in God’s Grace”

Tuesday, October 24, 2017

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Today, as we take the time to read the Word, let us we recommit ourselves to putting God first.  As we do so, we can come boldly to His throne of grace.  Thank God for grace!  It is only because of His grace that we have not been consumed. God’s grace is truly amazing!  We can never use it all up. Never.

The throne of God is a throne of grace. It is a place of acceptance and mercy.  It is a place of sweet release from the cares and fears of life.  The throne of grace is a place that we can access with boldness and with confidence. As we approach with boldness the throne of grace, we are equipped to help others in time of need.  So many times we feel inadequate to be of assistance to those around us, but, if we obtain mercy and if we receive God’s grace we are empowered to empower others. We can only give to others what we possess ourselves; therefore, we must first go boldly and be blessed so that we can be a blessing to others. Jesus paid the price for us to access this gift of grace.  Today do not let anything keep you from walking in God’s amazing grace.

The familiar hymn rings true, “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.” Yes my friend, the grace of God has saved you and is keeping you daily.  Accept the gift today in a new way and thank Him for providing it.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your grace.  As I ponder on Your grace it humbles me because I realize that if it had not been for Your grace, I would not be who I am today. Lord, help me to see others through Your eyes of grace.    Amen.
