Your Word for This Day: “I am a R E F L E C T O R”

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Do you know what reflectors do? They reflect; just as a mirror or a polished surface would reflect light, so too reflectors reflect.

We are called to reflect the One who created us.  The Bible clearly states that we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

We must, like a mirror, reflect Christ.

As reflectors, we must be concerned about what we are reflecting. Are we reflecting good or evil? Obedience or disobedience? Rebellion or submission? Confidence or low self-esteem?  Success or failure?

It is important that as a person with a new identity in Christ, we reflect who we are and whose we are.

Spend some time today accessing your reflection and if it is not accurate, then do something about it.

Make sure that you are a reflector of God’s glory.

Your Word for This Day: “I Belong”

Thursday, July 27, 2017

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”  I Cor. 6:19-20

Have you ever struggled with belonging?  There is something about belonging that gives us security and a false sense of comfort.

We feel out of place when we are left out of a group or ignored by those we care about.  It erodes our self-confidence, and many times, causes us to withdraw and become introverts.

God is the One who put this desire to belong inside of us.  Not only did He put the desire to belong, but He created an avenue for us to belong.

We belong to Jesus. We belong to God.

Others may reject us and cause us to feel unwanted and unloved.  People can be cruel at times, even those closest to us.  That, however, does not extend to God.  God tells us over and over in His word that we belong to Him.

Know today that you are not an outsider.  You have God.

He says that you belong to Him.

Believe it and live it.

Your Word for This Day: “Wisdom for Living: CHANGE”

Thursday, June 1, 2017

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

In the month of May, we have been re-discovering many important truths about our need for WISDOM to navigate our journey through life and to access the abundance that God has prepared for His children in this season.

We have learned that wisdom is the principal thing and in all our getting we must get wisdom. We were reminded that there were two main types of wisdom: Earthly or devilish and God given (James 3:13). We also looked at the many benefits that we gain from wisdom (Proverbs 2, 3 and 4).

Now is time to ask ourselves: “What have I learned? Have I applied anything to my life? Has anything in my thinking changed? Am I walking in greater freedom?

  • Am I making wiser health decisions?
  • Am I making wiser financial decisions?
  • Am I making wiser ministry decisions?
  • Am I making wiser relational decisions?
  • Am I making wiser educational decisions?
  • Am I making wiser parenting decisions?
  • Am I making wiser spiritual decisions?
  • Am I making wiser career decisions?

Where are you right now?  Are you walking in a higher level of Truth concerning yourself and your life?

My friends, we all are at different levels of growth and development, spiritually and physically but we must all come to the conclusion that we cannot remain where we are because all living things grow and develop.  It doesn’t matter where we are in life, if we are alive, we must grow. Change is a natural part of life.

Growth is painful, but necessary. Change can be difficult, but it is also necessary.

We need to come to the knowledge of the truth about ourselves and so, as we wrap up this study on wisdom, let’s take some time today to use check ourselves out. Let’s use the mirror of God’s word to help us all to see clearly where we are so that we can chart a wise course to get to where God wants us to be.

Your Word for This Day: “A NEW blessing for me today!”

Wednesday, April 5, 2017

This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”  Lamentations 3:21-23

There is something about new things that bring a sense of excitement and hope.  It is as if with the new thing, we have been given another chance to achieve, to overcome, or to even conquer some habit that has been plaguing our lives. Yes, there is much expectation when we receive something new.

No limits and no boundaries.  With God on our side all things are possible.  Every morning we experience God’s new mercies.  His new strength, His new wisdom,  His new compassion, His new enablement and the list goes on and on.  As the scripture clearly states, morning after morning new mercies we receive.

Today, is no exception.  As you continue to pursue your God given destiny, know that you have new strength to endure, new speed to run, new courage so that you will not give up and new faith to persevere knowing that your pot of gold is waiting for you at the end of the tunnel.

Every day that we are allowed to live, God has new and wonderful things in store for us.  Shift your focus and begin to enjoy the newness of life so that you will maximize each new day that you receive as a gift from the Lord.

Forget yesterday.  Enjoy today.  Don’t miss the new mercies that are coming your way.

Your Word for This Day: “Walking in Light”

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” Colossians 1:13

darkness-to-light

The decision we made to serve God is similar to making plans to migrate to another country, even if we didn’t know it at the time. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we changed locations—we were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

As 1 Peter 2:9 states, we have are to proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. And as we travel on this journey of knowing Jesus more, there will always be these two entities vying for our attention – light and darkness.

The memories of our past when we dwelled in darkness will resurface. We are not to condemn ourselves but use it as a point of reference to give praise to GOD for bringing us thus far. Remember we are all works in progress and as we continue to walk in the light we will make it.

Today’s Declaration: I am now a citizen of the Kingdom of Light and I will walk in the light!

Your Word for This Day: “Go With God!”

Friday, January 6, 2016

“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” Proverbs 19:21

walkwithgod

My friends, in this season of Abundance that God has declared over His children, one thing will enable us to walk in everything that God has prepared for us. If we are to advance, if we are to access, if we are to possess our inheritance in the earth, then we must GO WITH GOD.

It may sound simple, but believe me this is what will make the difference in your life this year, and in every year that follows. As we journey, we will make many plans, come up with all sorts of goals, but at the end of the day, it is God’s plans that will prevail. God’s plans are the ones that will come to pass. So we must follow His lead.

So let 2017 be the year you intentionally “Go with God.”

…Take a leap of faith and follow Him where He leads you.

…Agree with God and block out every thing that contradicts His promises to you. Make space in your life for what He has promised to do.

…Focus on what’s really important in life and don’t let anything (or anyone) distract you from your purpose (Seek first His Kingdom, and His righteousness and everything that you need will be added to you).

…Spend quality time in God’s word so that His truth can permeate your mind and train you to see things from His perspective. You are on the winning side!

…Strengthen your ability to hear from God by spending time in worship, fellowship and prayer. God will speak to you and lead you in the path that you should go.

…Give thanks as you go! God is a good, good Father and He loves you so!

… and one more thing! Enjoy the journey to your destiny. God is forming a beautiful jewel that will radiate with His love and shine brightly for His glory for all to see. You are that jewel and the world needs your light.

Don’t hesitate, don’t delay… Go with God! He desires to fulfill His purposes in and through you!

Your Word for This Day: With All of my Mind!

Monday, April 18, 2016

“And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” Mark 12:30

love-god-with-your-mind

Jesus told His disciples that we are to love the Lord with our entire beings – all of our strength… all of our hearts… all of our souls… and all of our minds.

Mental health is just as important as physical and emotional health and shouldn’t be neglected. A healthy mind is necessary for a healthy self because every part of us is connected. We can’t just look at the physical and ignore the emotional and mental or just look at the emotional and ignore the physical.

A healthy body + a healthy soul (heart & mind)  + a healthy spirit = a healthy being and happy being!

As we develop healthy minds, we are better able to worship the Lord and to enjoy all that He gives to us.

So, what exactly is mental fitness? Well, it  includes keeping your brain in tip-top shape, so that you can achieve and sustain a state of good mental health.

When we are mentally fit, we

  • enjoy our lives more.
  • enhance our relationships with others.
  • Increase our creativity and our willingness to try new things and take risks.
  • Increase our resiliency – the ability to “get back up again”.
  • Increase our ability to cope with difficult times in our lives.

These benefits, along with others, show us how important it is that we make the investment into our lives by developing healthy minds.

Keeping your mind mentally fit isn’t as difficult as getting ready for a marathon, but it’s the best way to view it. We will train our brains to develop “brain muscles” and become strong so that we can endure to the end and finish strong! Today, let’s make a commitment to develop our mental health.

And, if you’re ready to get started, here’s a site that can help you: click here...

With you on your journey towards great mental health!

Blessings!
