Your Word for This Day: “Living on Praise Avenue”

Monday, December 4, 2017

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4

This is the day that God has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! What a beautiful way to begin this day, and any other day that you see the rising of the sun. Truly God is good to us.  Truly He has done great things.  Yes, we will give Him praise and lift His name on high.

Today, unlike any other day, let the high praises of God be in your mouth.  Come on, lift your voice, clap your hands and give a shout of triumph and victory. Do not count the problems.  Count the blessings.  Instead of focusing on what you do not have, enjoy what you do have.

Praise is also a weapon of war. In Psalm 149, verse 6 it is described as a two-edged sword.  The enemy hates it when we praise, so make him mad. Praise the Lord with all your strength.

There is power in praise.  There is victory in praise.  There is healing in praise. There is deliverance in praise.  There is anointing in praise. Come on, my friend, let us Praise the Lord!!!!!!!

Father, I praise You.  I rejoice in Your love and Your goodness.  I bless Your holy name.  Lord, You are good and Your mercies endure forever. Lord, I lift Your name on high today.  I give You a high note of praise that You truly deserve. Lord, I will continue to bless and praise You for the rest of my days.  Live in my praises Lord and rejoice over me with singing and dancing today.  Amen.

Your Word for This Day: “Living on My High Place”

Tuesday, November 28, 2017

The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.” Habakkuk 3:19

I have had the opportunity to observe the agility and nimbleness of forest animals as they dart in and out of the trees.  I have seen mountain goats quickly disappear upwards on some very high slopes and rough terrain and marvel at the ability to ascend such heights in seconds.  Looking at them brings praises to my lips for I know that Creator God fashioned them to accomplish such feats. We are also designed by Creator God to walk upon high places.  Our high place may not be the roughness of a mountain slope, but we do have high places to attain.

It is God’s will for us to access our high place.  He will do whatever He has to do to get us there.  He will strengthen us, guide and encourage us so that we will not miss getting to our high places.  Cooperate with Him and allow Him to give you feet like hinds feet so that you will be able to navigate successfully the rough terrains of life and get to the high places that God ordained for you before the foundation of the world.

You will never be the same again.  You will see every situation from an elevated position and will be able to respond to life accurately because you would be looking from up to down and not from down to up.  As your position changes your perspectives will changes. Agree with God and together start the journey to your high places.

Lord, how can I say thanks to You for all Your provisions for me?  Your love truly is amazing.  Help me to live a life of thanksgiving for all that You have done for me to be a winner on this earth.  I thank You Lord. Amen.

Your Word for This Day: “Living with the Spirit of Truth”

Thursday, November 23, 2017

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” John 16:13

God’s love for us is demonstrated through many ways, but two of the most dynamic ways are first, the sending of His only Son, Jesus Christ, and secondly, the sending of the Comforter, teacher and guide, His precious Holy Spirit.

Life lived with the Spirit of Truth is indeed an exciting and rewarding life.  The Holy Spirit has the awesome responsibility to lead and guide us into all truth.  What is truth?  God’s Word is truth.  The Holy Spirit leads us into the truth of God’s Word and makes it real and practical to us.  As He guides us in our daily reading and study of the Word, we get to know the heart of the Father.

In the world today, man’s wisdom is often used to understand God and His Word.  This approach can never be accurate because of our sinful nature.  Carnal minds cannot understand spiritual truths. Our only hope of true knowledge and understanding comes through the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth.

Today, open your heart to Him and let Him take you on a journey in the Word. I promise you that you will be amazed at what you will discover about God, His word and yourself.  As He takes that which HE hears and makes it known to you, you will wonder why you did not do this before.  Come on, start enjoying fellowship with the Spirit of Truth and embark on the journey of a transformed life.

God my Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Thank You for demonstrating Your love for us through Him.  Precious Holy Spirit, thank You for being my Guide and my Counselor.  Amen.

Your Word for This Day: “Living the Life of Dominion”

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26

When God made man, He had success in mind; this is why HE created us in HIS own image and after HIS likeness.  He put within us the ability to take charge and dominate our environment.  Everything was made subjected to us: the fish in the sea, the fowls of the air, and the cattle.  In fact, as the text says, over all the earth

Man’s dominion over the earth was God’s original intention, but, we know very well the account of Adam and Eve and the outcome of their disobedience.  But thanks be to God, who made a way for us to get back to that position of dominion and authority.

Through Jesus Christ, the second Adam, we are now able to take our rightful position and do that which we were created to do, have dominion. We were designed by God to be successful, to be overcomers, to be more than conquerors, to be the head and not the tail, to be above only and not below.

Are you living a victorious life in Christ?  Do you see yourself as God sees you?  Do you know how God sees you? It is all in His Word.  Feed your spirit with the knowledge of who you are in God.  Everyone who is in Christ should be a new creature.  Are you a new creature in Him?  Have you accepted the new life in Christ, being transformed into His image and likeness? Today, purpose in your heart to represent God accurately on the earth.  Let His likeness be seen in you so that others will want what you have.

Father, I thank You for creating me in Your image and after Your likeness.  I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to show us Who You are.  Please help me to reflect more of You in my life.  Help me to be conformed to the image of Your Son Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Your Word for This Day: “Living in The Will of God”

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15

Let us look at Jesus’ life on earth.  Remember in the garden of Gethsemane when He surrendered His will to the Father?  We see Jesus making the ultimate decision with those profound words, “Nevertheless not my will but thine be done.”

How did Jesus know the will of His Father?  Simple, it was written in the Word.  Jesus came to fulfill that which was written in the Law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Him.

We can also know the will of the Father as we study His word and develop a relationship with Him so that He can speak, by the Holy Spirit, to our hearts. As we commune with Him daily, He opens our understanding of His Will for us.  Once we know His will, we can now pray with confidence, as we read in the Scriptures. Praying the will of God brings the desired petitions to reality.

Take some time and find out God’s will for any given situation before you embark on prayer.  You may just discover that what you believe for is not what God wants to give to you. Let your prayer be in agreement with the will of God, and you will have that which you asked for.

Teach me Your way and Your will Lord, so that I can accurately make my petitions and request known to You.  Show me how to discover Your will as I spend time in Your Word.  Lord, I want only what You want, so help me Lord to know Your will and Your heart.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Your Word for This Day: “Living a God-Ordered Life”

Monday, November 20, 2017

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” Psalm 37:23

A very Blessed Monday to you!

It’s so reassuring to know today that God orders our steps. One of the things you will notice about today’s verse is that God orders the steps of the godly. This word ‘godly’ is not talking about one who does not sin.  Here, ‘godly’ refers to one who puts his or her trust in the Living God.  Not only has he put his trust in God but he is striving to live a life that is pleasing to God.  He may not be perfect but he has submitted to God’s authority in his life and so he brings delight to the Father. When such is the case, God then assumes the responsibility for His sheep and He orders his steps.  He knows that His sheep will hear His voice and would follow His direction and leading.

Are you a sheep who hears and obeys the voice of your Shepherd?  If you are, then you can rest assured the He will order your steps.  Obedience to the voice of God brings blessings that cannot be measured. If you are not walking in obedience as you should, today is the day to commit yourself to obey the Father so that He can lead you in the way that you have to go.  The stress and the anxiety of making the right decisions will no longer be yours because you now have the Shepherd leading you.  He knows all and so His choices are always the best.

Will you commit your steps to Him so that you can be confident that your choices are God ordained?  Choose to follow Him today. Let today be the start of a wonderful journey with the Lord. I promise you it would be the best decision of your life.

Lord, I want You to delight in me as I walk in obedience to You.  Please take control of my life.  I surrender myself to You and ask You to order my steps every day from now on.  I thank You for hearing and answering the cry of my heart. Thank You for Your peace.   Amen.

Your Word for This Day: “Living a Courageous Life”

Friday, November 17, 2017

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Many times in our lives, God gives us assignments that are not easy.  In fact, they may be so downright difficult that it seems almost impossible to be accomplished.  If you are in such a position, take heart my friend.  It is all God.

There was no way for Joshua to do what he had to do by himself and the same goes for you.  He needed God and you need God, like you have never needed Him before. God wants us to need Him desperately.  He loves to be needed like that.  He knew what Joshua was thinking and feeling and so He turned up with the words that Joshua needed to hear: “Do not be afraid!” God was the One who had chosen Joshua.  Joshua did not put himself in that position.  And so, God reminded him that He was in charge.  Joshua had nothing to worry about.  Those words gave Joshua the courage and the strength he needed to carry out the task.  Joshua just had to obey orders and follow wherever God led him.

You, too, must do the same.  If God brought you to it, He will surely bring you through it.  Know that your God is with you in the fire as well as in the river.

Did God command you?  Did He bring you to this point? Then trust Him to see you through.  He will not fail you.  You may say that you do not know if God brought you to this point or if it is of your own making.  Well do not despair.  Still trust Him. He will never leave you nor forsake you. You can trust His Word.  God is a good Father.  Be strong and of a good courage.  He is with you.  Wherever you are, God is!

Lord, like Joshua, I am in way over my head.  Today, I take courage in the fact that as You were with Joshua You are with me.  I choose to hold on to Your Word so that I will be comforted.  Thank You for not leaving me alone.  Thank You for being a God that I could depend on. Thank You for loving and helping me through this situation.  Thank You for being God.   Amen.
